Field Day 2009 - gone for another year. This year, as always, is a hope for a new beginning as our club reaches out to newcomers as well as the "oldtimers" from before. It is a teaching and learning experience for all. What one thinks will work, turns out to be a flop (grin) you know who we are talking about. The main item of Field Day is sharing knowledge with others and above all,
having a good time, food and fellowship. Some good ole folklore is always
developed from each FD that will be told for years. However, isn't that what FD
really is, swapping stories? Hopefully, if your dropping b What is FD without good cooking. If didn't drop by this year, you missed out on some great food not one but three different times, food miraculously appeared before our eyes and then disappeared through our stomachs. Kudos go to our club president this year, Carl, KI4SQH as he brought out his mess trailer or what appeared to be, and provided victuals for all, not to mention the cool drinks and they were very much appreciated. A goal every year is to build on last year. Our club did that by more than doubling last year's score. However, the bottom line is not to have a huge score, which is nice but the fellowship and sharing your club with your community is what it is all about. So if didn't make this year's event, mark your calendar for next year, always last full weekend of June. 73 Steve, W4NHO
