If you've been monitoring 145.01 lately - you may be hearing more packet activity. W4NHO has been running a test node on 145.01. This node is multi-tasking. BPQ32 software based, has the capability to access RMS/Winlink ports, BBS software and function as a node at the same time. For information, please join the following user's group:http://groups.yahoo.com/group/BPQ32/ Also, please support the KYPN (KY Packet Network) by volunteering and getting involved in your county www.kypn.net or the Yahoo user's group http://groups.yahoo.com/group/kypacket/ OUTPOST 2.4 is compatible with this software www.outpostpm.org . Therefore, shortly the node will be moved from W4NHO's QTH to the Daviess Co EMA office where 24/7 internet and emergency power will give the node for 24/7 operability. Outpost will provide the connecting software to allow agencies and users to send messages out of Daviess Co via RF without the internet during an emergency. Hopefully, Henderson Co will be operational where their node KC4BQK-2 will be able to communicate with K4HY-2. The nodes are still be tested so please be patient as we are learning and debugging at the same. Evansville/Newburg is also participating in this net as well in association with AA9MM and N9QVQ. Thanks ... Steve/sysop K4HY-2 |
